USPAP formerly included guidance discussing both types of review in Advisory Opinion 6 (AO-6), which was retired in 2004. While USPAP no longer addresses administrative reviews, they continue to be a useful tool for many agencies to ensure quality control and inform agency decisions, among other purposes.
