Welcome to the Right of Way Community Owner forum!
The Right of Way Community (RWC) offers a robust website and forums that empower members to navigate and gather essential information for themselves when dealing with condemnation and eminent domain issues related to the acquisition of new right of way for public projects. RWC provides answers to your single queries from the Uniform Act, its Appendices, its Frequently Asked Questions, as well as from the USFLA (Yellow Book).
RWC Best Practices Hub
This is your landing page, displaying recent discussions in the center column and searchable codes and non-codes in the sidebars. You can revisit this page anytime by clicking on the Right of Way Community logo situated on the left side of the site’s header area.
- Exploring the RWC Best Practices Hub
- Scroll through recent discussion topics.
- Click on a topic that interests you to learn from the
discussion and reply (you must be signed in to reply). - If applicable, you can add tags or additional codes
that relate to your reply. - You can choose to reply using your name, anonymously,
or with a pseudonym. - Click the ‘Notify Me’ box to receive updates on the
discussion. - Navigating the Yellow Book and URA Codes
- Scroll the left sidebar for codes or discussions that
interest you. - Click on a code to see its language and subcodes.
- Study the code language, comment, or ask a question
about its application (you must be signed in to do this). - Review related discussions on that code in the right
sidebar. - Check the right sidebar for related codes within the
URA or the Yellow Book. - Using the RWC Spyglass Tool
- Use the RWC spyglass tool (located next to your name
in the forum’s header section) to search for keywords, phrases, or codes. - The search results will list matches under one or more
of five headings: Forum Discussions, URA Code Related Topics, USFLA
Yellow Book, Resources, and FAQs. There may be a ‘more’ button for
additional results. - Click on a topic to view the discussion or code. You
can join the conversation or ask a question about the code if you are
signed in.
Forums
RWC hosts two forums, one for owners and one for practitioners. They function similarly but have different members and conversations. Note that practitioner conversations are private.
These forums share the same features as the RWC Best Practices Hub, with the added ability to start a new conversation directly from the forum home page.
When initiating a new conversation, please add tags and codes in the provided areas if they apply. Tags can be added by clicking on ‘Type one or more tags, comma-separated,’ and typing your tag. If you know the applicable code, enter it in one or both boxes under ‘Type one or more tags, comma-separated.’ The upper box lists the Yellow Book sections, and the lower box lists the URA codes. If you’re unsure about the code, RWC will add the appropriate one.
